Our Team

Steve Hansmann is a second-generation builder, learning to be a fine custom home builder and remodeler from his father John. He knows every aspect of the trade and is a hands-on builder. He studied architecture for 2 years at Cabrillo College and developed the aptitude to understand architectural drawings, and uses that knowledge and experience to help ensure the structural integrity of a home.  The most common observation we receive from our clients is how gifted Steve is at the entire home building process and how he is always happy and easy to work with. Take a look at our testimonials under the OUR HOMES TAB.

Steve's hobbies include, snow skiing and boarding, mountain biking, water skiing and surfing.

Julie Hansmann has a Bachelors degree in Business/Real Estate from San Jose State, and was in real estate sales and leasing for many years. Julie has used her diverse business background and strong organizational skills to manage the construction company for 21 years, she keeps operations running efficiently. Staples Office Supplies Stores even choose her organizational invention called "The Stacker"  as a Top Ten Finalist in their Invention Quest contest.

Julie’s effective management of the office allows Steve to spend the majority of his time working with the clients and subcontractors overseeing the home building process.

Julie enjoys snow skiing in the winter and water skiing and gardening in the summer. When not too busy with work she also enjoys entertaining friends and researching family genealogy.

John Hansmann is Steve and Julie’s son and represents the third generation of Hansmann home builders, thus our name Hansmann & Sons. Steve’s father, John Sr. taught Steve about building and now Steve is passing the skill to his son, John Jr.  The craft of building a superb new custom home is a family tradition for the Hansmanns. John has proudly been a part of Hansmann & Sons since 2005 and is a talented journeyman carpenter, and fine finish carpenter.

It was a very sunny day when John had this picture taken, thus the sunglasses, but he also likes looking. John enjoys snow boarding, wake boarding, and paddle boarding.
